A Californian court has awarded rapper Eminem a greater share of the money made from selling downloads of his songs on the iTunes store. The court ruled that the songs were “licensed”, not “sold” to Apple, which runs the iTunes store.

George Lucas (creator of Star Wars) has recently wielded his legal light sabre at a US company which reportedly infringed “Jedi” trade mark/s. The relevant US Code provision is § 1114, which relates to certain uses of a registered trade mark without consent where that use is “likely to cause confusion, or to cause mistake, or to deceive”.
BREAKING NEWS: Court extends injunction on PS3 jailbreak
The Federal Court today extended an interim interlocutory injunction to prevent the sale and distribution of the “PSJailbreak” mod chip for the Sony Playstation 3 games console. The parties involved in the case consented to orders requiring the four alleged distributors of the device to hand over to Sony’s lawyers all mod chips in their possession, and any which they obtain in future. The injunction will remain in place until the parties return to Court for further argument (currently no date is set).
